Championship Manager sluit servers door Eidos

Nieuws | 7 februari 2010 - Al eerder werd er bekend dat de servers van de voetbal MMO Championship Manager offline gaan op 30 april. Nu heeft ontwikkelaar Jadestone een reactie daarop gegeven en geeft Eidos de schuld.

Veel gamers die het spel spelen zijn erg boos en Jadestone heeft daarop een reactie gegeven via Computer and Video Games:

Quote: “We – at Jadestone – cannot talk about the decision to close the game, due to contractual obligations. We will not answer or comment any such questions. The game, the brand, the internet domain and the subscriptions are all owned by Eidos and the decision to cease the service is entirely theirs to make. The decision was made unilaterally by them, and we are not at liberty to comment on any reasoning. Finally, we only have one more thing to say: Thank you, and we’re sorry.”

Laatste zucht
Het einde van de Championship Manager servers is dus een feit en kunnen de fans van de game nog een aantal weken aan de slag, voordat het doek definitief valt.
